Four of Them

I guess because of the content I post i’m more or less known as a nerd blog on here. Which is 100% cool with me, I know who I am & i’m not ashamed of it. I post the things I post, say the things I say, read the things I read because it’s all strikes a positive reaction out me. Probably 70% of the questions that I get asked are comic related which is understandable, people want to know what i’m reading, they want to know if i’m more of a DC fanboy or Marvel fanboy, people want to know my favorite movies (The Dark Knight, The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, The Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man 2, Iron Man 1&2, Captain America: The First Avenger, Watchmen in that order), they want to know who would win in a fight, people want my opinions (the new DCU continuity sucks donkey balls except for like 12 titles), but I think the question that I get asked the most is who are my favorite characters & why. A question that i’m willing to answer publicly so I don’t have to keep typing that ish out anymore.
A lot of people are surprised when I tell them that in my opinion Spider-Man is possibly the best character in the Marvel universe. People think that in a Universe full of cosmic beings, gods, hulking beasts, mutants, & men in armor, I couldn’t possibly a regular joe blessed with spider powers. To me Spider-Man represents the american dream, now before you all start shoving Steve Rogers down my throat hear me out. No offense to Cap, but Steve’s whole life changed after taking the super solider serum. He got to fight for his country, women started noticing him, people actually gave him respect. His life changed to the point that without the serum Steve would not have been shit. Now Peter Parker was a regular high-school student, who went on a field trip where he was bitten by a radioactive spider which gave him spider-like superpowers. Now did Peter start living in the lap of luxury after that? Hell no, Peter still got picked on daily, his only father figure passed leaving him to care for his aging aunt, he worked a minimum wage job, lived in a shitty apartment, he was cloned, his first love was killed, he had to create his own costume/web fluid, the whole city of New York thought he was a menace, & to top it all best friends father was out to kill him. Through all that Peter kept true to his moral code & remained positive even when the going got tough. The only thing that the suit did was give Peter more confidence to go after what he wants. That attitude alone makes him the most well known, respected members of the Marvel U & he has always been the X-Factor.
Now onto my all-time favorite character, Dick Grayson like Bruce Wayne, had to grow up fast due to his parents dying at a young age. He went from being featured amongst his parents as an acrobat in Haly’s Circus one minute to being an orphan living with the richest man in Gotham the next. While sneaking out to investigate his father’s murder Dick ran into Batman who was also there. Batman revealed his true identity & realized that he had to take the kid under his wing so he could have something to take his mind off the sadness, thus Dick became the first of many incarnations of Robin. As Dick was growing into a young adult he found that he & Bruce disagreed on everything concerning crime-fighting methods, thus he left to lead the Teen Titans. When the conflict between Bruce & Dick became too much, Dick took some time off from crime fighting in order to figure out where would he go from there. After paying a visit to his mentor Superman for advice Dick decided to go by Nightwing as a sign of growth & independence. That’s pretty much Dick Grayson in a nutshell, he’s a boy that grew into a man, & he did it on his own terms. He even had a stint as Batman once when Bruce was believed to be dead, even then he did it his way.
